Going to Batavia downs tonight he should have a good night he’s morning line favorite on every race except one he’s 4-1
Another record??
-
George Anthony dubbed him "The Prodigy" and the sky's the limit for the kid... can't wait to see how he progresses.
-
I didn't know Casey Anthonys dad was a harness racing buff.
-
You have to admit. He has an amazing work ethic. 4-hour drive each way.
-
One for Twelve must be he didn't have the gas or they were testing for it.
-
Burned a shitload of money for the bettors. I hope he was gambling on the side and betting against himself or else that was a waste of a drive to Batavia.
-
One [by a neck] for twelve at BATAVIA. ngc3 Now that is phenomenal. ;D
-
No big gas trainers there he’s just average
No offense

I'm sure his biggest fan Pacer2 will be along shortly to mention all his great achievements and records for a 22-year-old. The guy burns more money than any driver out there these days, sure he wins his share but the majority of his horses are way overbet.
-
should we not have a thread on colin kelly based on last weekend ??
-
If your reading this mark send some horses to Bativia so the kid can win a couple
-
should we not have a thread on colin kelly based on last weekend ??
Probably should but he doesn't have or need cheerleaders. I think the guy has talent and so does his brother Dave who is now at Mohawk and doing well
-

Hopefully the old man's stock has been rejuvenated...Don't want him sending any of the horses he raced the last 2 months at Saratoga ...his barn did an about face the last 2 months..not gonna suggest what he may have ran out of...As far as the son goes, I got no dog in the fight, but it appears he's off to another great year....on target for 600 PLUS wins, and 8 million in purses ( his 5% is a measly $400,000)
-
Back to Bativia tonight he has 8 morning line favorites do you think he can win more than one tonight
-

I have watched him from a far. At 22 he’s progressing greatly, if he stays the course he’s the only driver as of right now who can catch Palone's win record, couple of caveats(a warning or proviso of specific stipulations, conditions, or limitations) 1- Dave hangs it up in the next 2-3 yrs, 2 racing opportunities stay strong for Brett the next 20 yrs.No decoupling or reduction in racing. I felt the need to define caveats for the troglodytes on here who won’t be impressed by BB unless his 12 for 12 and walks on water afterwards after the card.
-

Im thinking you have Pacer2's gender wrong...maybe not...

The cash burning continues full throttle. Though cancelled after 9 races, he still managed to lose at odds of:
3-5, 1-2, 7-5, 2-1, 6-5, 6-5, 4-5 Over-bet I'm sure. Overrated, I'd also say yes.
-
Part of the problem (imho) is ,at Batavia , BB is listed as morning line favorite on horses he is driving, solely because he is driving them...if someone else up there were driving, they would be 3rd or 4th choice morning line so that influences the betting...that and the fact that he has won over 2000 races his first 3 years in the business...and look at the driving Coloney at Batavia...horrend ous!
-
Cmon pool boy you have to know this hat that’s wrong
He is just average
But right he did get one home
Mark need help in Bativia
-
Nothing wrong with easy trips early in the meet. RECLASSIFICATION. Horses then drop in class and BINGO!! Just watch. It happens every year with the big-name trainers there every year.

That is the one track that guys who drove in the 10 century are still driving and their kids and grand kids still drive and no talent was past on because there was none to start with, Walking in to that track is different for me because somehow it does not give you racetrack vibes and its for sure your girlfriends or wifes cool place to be, i do not care if a guy is losing with overbet 3-5 shots but when i see him over drive a horse that your eyes see as having trouble and he pulls and fades then i am not impressed but so far hes hard not to like as he has done the job and no top driver rides clean horses in racing so lets get that as a criteria for being good out of the way.

Just average kid
-
2026 is only 3 weeks old and Beckwith is 3rd in UDRS and WINS and 7th in earnings..IN THE NATION...just imagine what his numbers would be if he was any good ngc3 ngc3 ngc3...just an observation

Strong starts like this are rare in harness racing, He will be driving top horses this year.
-
a real double edged sword
some folks thin k his numbers are great
others are likely wise enough to bet against him when he is odds on and loses most of them
-
Just average kid
How dumb are you? ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

Just average

Talk about opposites attract. ngc3
Racing is dead ngc3

When's the wedding for you two? ;D

Just average
Only 5 beaten favorites out of 9 races. A little less than average today
-

-
Gas and connections makes big difference without it he is

Bret wins 4 at Saratoga today. WOWZA!!
Are you his boyfriend?
Do you just dream of this talented, young twink looking driver?
You'd still dream of eating his asshole out clean even if he didn't make $800 today, right?
$800 in earning pre-tax today, so more like $500...let's all do tumblesalts?
What am I missing? ;D
-
Bret wins 4 at Saratoga today. WOWZA!!
That's a bigger accomplishment than climbing Mount Everest.

Thanks Melissa

ngc3
He wins 5 races in a card it's a bigger accomplishment than me handicapping and winning 2 in a row in a session. ngc3
-
The fact that he won 4 races in one night is not spectacular. Many drivers have done that. But the fact that he did that on 5 different race tracks from 1/2 mile to a mile ALL WITHIN THE LAST YEAR IS TOTALLY SPECTACULAR!!! tmbz1
-
The Beckwith’s lost Ikon Vang Dk yesterday. Let’s see how the new connections do.. this should be an indicator.
-
How did he do last night at Yonkers. Just an average driver at best without a prerace trainer.
-
I’ve been saying this
nice kid but without dads prerace just average
-
Batavia, NY — Brett Beckwith, currently the third winningest driver in North America for 2026, substantially added to his victory total on Thursday (Feb. 5) at Batavia Downs after winning five races on the program. Those wins included a sweep of the Batavia Downs Winter Pacing Series finals, as well as a natural hat trick in races seven, eight and nine.
The top final went for $14,000, and Beckwith scored with Timeto Communicate after getting a perfect trip

An indicator of what? Podres will do fine with the horse.

Beckwith won 6 last night at the Meadowlands with 2 seconds. Not bad.

A MONSTER NIGHT AT THE BIG M!!!! HE MADE A FORTUNE!!!
-
He made $1938.25 which is 5% of his purse earnings, hardly a fortune, but not bad for 6 hours work.

I'm guessing he made $400-$500 in tips....

No shot! You are clueless how things work anymore. You’re giving a tip to a guy who just made $2k+ in a night?
-

You must be clueless. Many owners give drivers tips when they win. Some give them a win ticket before the race. And I know more than one driver that requests $100 bill to drive your horse win or lose . If you think all the top drivers make is the purses earned you're very naive or dont know the business.....
-
Was fortunate to have him drive one for me, and he won. Handed him $100. He wouldn't take it. He said, "Give it to the groom. They are the ones who work hard on this house to make my job easy." That's a class act.
-

You are 100 per cent correct. He has won for me on many occasions and i have tried to tip him and he said no also. CLASS ACT
-
In many races he's listed in several horses so accepting tips may have an influence on who he chooses to drive and if he doesn't choose your horse after you tipped him you may get pissed off and call him ungrateful.m What's a $100 tip when you're making between $300,000;and $400,000 anyway, chump change .
-
Trust me. I've had other big-name drivers win for me. Some make more than him. They can't wait to take the tip money.
Almost all pick the horse that has the best chance to win. 5% of the win purse at these tracks, where they drive, really adds up. Plus, they like udr and wins total look good. They all have egos.
-

WOW! One of a kind.
-

I have tipped my drivers after winning a race for me!
It's a form of "greasing the wheel"! If they have a choice between choosing on/off, this could sway their decision.
FYI, I've tipped Brett after winning a race with a horse that I owned a part of.
-
Driver wins a race and Puts $10,000 in my pocket for the winner's share. Tip well worth it.
Heck, I'll go to a restaurant with the family and leave a $50 tip because they say you are supposed to

What if the driver gives a bad drive that costs you money, is it his job to reimburse you what he cost you?

Not as half as dumb as you. That's my reasoning for not tipping the driver.

How's your Bret Beckwith blow-up doll that you sleep with holding up?
-
What if the driver gives a bad drive that costs you money, is it his job to reimburse you what he cost you?
You own a horse you pay the bills. You accept the outcome! You know this going into the business!
As an owner, you hope the driver can admit to a bad drive.
You can always make sure you don’t get the same driver again.
-
Bret won 5 at Saratoga today!!! tmbz1
-
What did he do at Yonkers last night?
-
6 drives, one 2nd place finish. Alot of outside posts. Hardly worth the 175-mile drive from Saratoga,

Outside posts are dead at Yonkers!

Duh, genius!

WOW! One of a kind.
Yet earlier you said he made tip money...so clearly you have no clue what you are talking about and just guessing. For what most guys race for and horsemen struggling to make it, tipping is not what it was many years ago. 30 years or more ago I would agree with you. Just not the norm anymore.
-
At Monticello today!
Awaiting updates!

I remember men having to have a jacket to get into the club house. Owners would go to the barn after the races.

That was a different time. Most clubhouses aren't even open anymore. Neither are at the Delaware tracks.

Rainman above said he personally tipped Bret after a win. Most owners tip for a win. So either you're calling him a LIAR or you HAVE NO CLUE! ngc3 ngc3 I'm guessing the HAVE NO CLUE for you! ngc3 ngc3

2 thirds in 7 drives, got a check in 6 of the 7.

You claimed he got hundreds a night and several on here said he refuses tips. Sounds like a couple of you are full of shit. And I already knew from a very reliable source he doesn't take tips before I posted dummy. If Rainman did give one that he accepted, it was a while ago. Kid is a class act by saying give it to the grooms. tmbz1

Yeah I told Harness Racer most owners tip for a win. He still argues! ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

For the few times I did win as an owner, we always tipped the drivers. Sometimes, we'd ask them before the race if they wanted us to make a bet for them.
-

You are crazy if you think most owners tip for wins...some maybe, but not most. How could people racing for peanuts at Monti or Vernon afford to give a tip after already losing 10% to the driver/trainer? I believe it to be in the minority of owners still tipping.
-

You're clearly a cheap fuck but most owners tip a win.

If you own them and they win, hopefully you got to the window to make a few bucks to pay for the tip-even at Vernon/Monticello!

You see, it's not tipping I believe in; it's over-tipping.

Brett is a nice clean cut kid with a future
-
Brett, don't hang your hopes on Harness Racing...use it like a bitch and schedule a break up point now...educate yourself, always, check out what some of your peers are doing...human sciences, being a doctor, vet, being influential in technology, an inventor... tmbz1
Listen to people with a functioning brain, not wannabees, never was, has beens and hanger ons, dummies that celebrate still something that's foundation is corrupt, and not sustainable.
Make a million and run from this bullshit at light speed kid! ;D
-
Very good advice tmbz1
-
Bret had 3 wins including a $43 winner at the Big M last night. Also 3 winners at Pocono yesterday afternoon. A workaholic and a winner!
-
Thanks mom!

Right on you hit the nail on the head
He’s so much better and more talented than that Herve guy
-
Once again, super talented kid with endless potential. But let’s not put him in the hall of fame quite yet. But definitely one of the best young talents this early in a career.
-
Right on you hit the nail on the head

Just imagine how many more races that Herve guy could have won if he didn’t short circuit his own career!!

Yo you know I’m kidding right
As a horsemen he would run circles around baby Bret
