Title: "Josiah"
Post by: Meadow Ford on June 25, 2025, 06:43:41 PM
Josiah (The Amish Flask) Miller
Like Cher and Madonna this teenage "P" driver Phenom will only need one name!
Better start betting him now!
He is the next Brett Beckwith!
The bandwagon is full, but there is still room on the road cart.
He is plying his trade at Running Aces in MN.
There he can watch and learn from The Enduring Legend Jerry Longo.
Also the MN. Golden Gopherettes are coming in off the lakes with their sandals off and their bikini tops in their hands to teach this young Amish boy the ways of the English.
Remember you first read it here.

Oh Ya You say!
How can a young man catch driving in MN. amount to anything in the future?
I can think of one that did.
Trivia ?
For a short time in the mid eighties Canterbury Downs in MN. had a harness horse meet.
Most every morning this future HOF driver, Hambletonian winner, LBJ winner, Adios winner, Cane Pace winner, and winner of several Breeders Crowns would walk through most every stable including Tony Morgan's and say
"Hi my name is ??? ?????? ,and I am a  catch driver, and I would like to drive your horses".
Any Guesses?

Purely a guess: Ron Pierce. Don't mind that Running Aces. They have nice crowds.
Kind of like Ocean Downs in that respect.

I know Pierce won a driving title there in the 80's so I agree with Bitter Truth.

William R. "Billy" Houghton  :)

There are 44 active driver and or trainers in the US with the last name Miller, and if he could be in the top 3 of those 44 would be amazing, go get em' kid and make the sky your limit.  tmbz1

Ledford not in HOF plus didn't win most of those races. Houghton was WAY before that time
plus he wasn't a catch driver, so our pick still stands as best so far. tmbz1

Houghton was 63 when he died in '86 so wasn't a hungry nobody in the 80's. tmbz1

Shhhhh please.

He died at 62 too, not 63, from an injury he sustained at that God forsaken Yonkers, God bless his heart!

It's a really good question.

John Campbell would also be a possible possibility, Billy H might dq you're right BT.  Your Ron Pierce pick was very good too.

Loosh was already well established so he would not have been running around looking for catch drives in the mid 80's but he did win the Dan Patch at Canterbury in the mid-80's with Forest Skipper, during his great run.  He also is in the HOF.

BUT, I agree with several other posters that this is Ron Pierce.

Yes it was the now retired character, that is maybe better known for the unbeatable horse (SBSW) that he beat, and for  "The wave".
Ron Pierce

I had sent a  couple horses and a groom up there for the meet. I only went up to drive them.
I would go up there and the groom would say this guy keeps coming around ever morning wanting to drive our horses.
I took offense till I learned he went through ever barn every morning.
My groom was a sexy young farm girl fresh out of high school. Maybe that is why he came visiting every morning.

On a side note, my wife [a big Pierce fan] got the whip from that race as well as the one
from Donato Hanover's Ky. Fut. win,and one from a Lex. win on Art Official. I have the one
from his win on Like A Prayer in Ky. Fut. tmbz1

Ron Pierce is a dirtbag who should have lost his license for life. He served a 6 month suspension for one of the most vile and repulsive acts I ever saw or heard about. If you were around Harness Racing in 1978, you know what I am talking about. Anytime I hear people praise that scumbag, I want to throw up.

It sounds like one act that you're not sure if you saw or heard about?

6 months, stiff sentence.   ngc3

Sounds personal.

I'd be pissed too if he didn't finish up in my mouth after all that haaaaard work!

You're a tease, maybe you got what you deserved.  ;D

So they let you back in here again. I admire you. Most abortion survivors can barely read, let alone type. You are special. Did you remove the hanger from you head or did you leave it in for better TV reception?

What you just said now made me laugh so hard when I was reading it originally in the best of Calhoun's posts and I started a thread because of it and other stuff that was said by Calhoun or he responded too.

Calhoun just put up a rolling and laughing emoji - like this -  ngc3

I was crying!

Now you just repeat it.

But I'm glad, others should laugh it's funny the first time, very.

This is for you, angry boy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=BzM-K7agIpo&t=4s

We're still waiting for the answer to the Ron Pierce suspension, Mike Campbell.

You repeat the same joke, yet tell us something we don't but want to know.

Now you sound like a teasing little girl who picks her nose and eats it.

Trigger,
Your stat of 44 is very missleading.
The 44 are only for the 1 week window before your search and any already listed entries.
There are many more Millers active in 2025 then 44.

Everyone figured the shit must be bad on the HOF dude based on how tough you "act" and how offended you were, but it turns out you're the definition of a snowflake.

Josiah, had a win in three starts last night at Running Aces.

In the 6th, with horse he trains, getting it done at 9-5.

No board luck though with Elson's longer odds trained steeds in 7th nor 11th.

Just from reading the charts I would say he came first up before the half with the two that finished back.
He better learn quick that that is a suicide trip.

Oh, I'm sorry. You must have me confused with someone who gives a shit what you think. Why not ask someone that knows Ron why he left the country to race in China. Also, put on a new pair of depends. I can smell you from a mile away.
