Scioto Starter
« on: June 02, 2020, 07:18:07 PM »
Caught most of the Tuesday card and watched 3 races where over half the field was multiple lengths off the gate.
Last race there were three horses near the gate. Jeremy smith walks to the front goes 29.0 first quarter and race over. Favorite was 5 lengths off and came back to be 3rd. Three horses were wayyyy off the gate.

Bad look if you’re playing.

watch races 2 and 15

especially the 15th race...

With a horse making a break that was off the gate --- there were two horses within a length.

There were seven that were off at least 4 lengths....I was going to play the rail - didn't, thought the odds were to short.... he was about 8 lentghs off the gate. I had a good opening weekend at Scioto, since, the track is hard to bet... with all the peace and love and giving holes.

That idiot does that every year. First few weeks of racing he leaves horses scattered. I have made post about this in the past years. One thing about it he is consistent  11.wp

I always thought it was the drivers responsibility to know where the gate is and get their horses in position. If most of the drivers can than the others should to! Sorry, bet a bad driver....get a bad drive is my rule. Sometimes you don't get any drive!

it was Dan Noble who had the favorite and Brett Miller among the seven left in the last race.

Being prepared, I get..... What the hell was happening determined the outcome of the races 50 yards after the start... Race over.

Either a bunch of drivers should get fined for not coming up to position, be put on the stewards list for being a bad actor behind the gate if that's the excuse or the starter needs to be an Uber driver not a car that determines the outcome of customers $100k.

Teefs I remember you bringing up this topic from scioto

The option is out there to fine drivers for not getting to the gate on time. Whether or not they do is another matter. I got fined once because my colt wouldn't turn to go to the gate. I finally got him going but we were 5 lengths off. Whats fun to watch is the drivers who try to time their gate rush just right so they can rocket to the front and miss it by a mile. Or slam into the gate going 35mph
