Mohawk Grass Roots Finals
« on: September 30, 2023, 10:59:30 AM »
Not an insignificant night for the ontario breds. These can be real competive and great betting races.  Anyone playing?

Two observations on the night:

1.) BigSexyCA's horse (Southside Eddy) was a fuxxing monster in the 1st. race

2.) Bill O'Donnell looks waaaaay older than his 75 years.  He made one of the presentations tonight and seemed to wander off afterwards.

Southside eddy took a little more $ than i anticipated. The other horse that surprised me was the horse in the 12th "boston..." that went from the deter to dupont (im not sure if dupont babysitting horse)  barn. It also took way more early $ than i expected. But clearly well intended.

I cant recall last time i saw a p5 carryover at mohawk. I looked at early p5. No easy singles. Toughest race imho is last leg a competitive trot with a little more than half the field very capable. There im tossing pikachu hanover since doug jumps off his fathers horse. Interesting horse to me in that race at 10- 1 is rivers (7). Im using 167 in my p5 in that leg.

While he was on my ticket last night I'll be watching very closely to see if he can back up that mile in the coming weeks.
