Cal-ex used to (may still) have a bonus for ship-in horses that win during the meet. Might be economically viable for some stables to ship out there.

Race 6- #2 came from 20 back at the half to win.
Fractions for race we’re 55 out, 59 back.
His fractions were 59 out, 55 back.

Cal Expo, only harness track still racing, will move its cards to Tuesdays and Wednesday, first post 3:05 Pacific. By doing so, they will have entire US simulcasting market all to themselves

So they aren't adding days just moving to tuesdays and wednesdays? That doesn't seem optimal. They basically have no signal competition when they race right now. People aren't going to hang around or come out to bet Cal-ex in the middle of the week.

they "race" for $2700!

that wasn't economically viable 35 years ago nonetheless today

Have you looked at the purses at Monticello lately? Also, purses tonight average $4127 dollars per race.
