These amateur races a disgrace. I dont bet monticello so i didnt have any $ involved.

Imho prone to questionable outcomes and abuses.

Amt races should be limited to 1 per week or better, be nonbetting. What gural has done with amateur races at big m a joke.

There has been a psycho win bettor hitting all afternoon harness tracks and he has not been doing particularity well. Many odds on horses very overbet. And he bets fairly early.

Alan Schwartz isn’t really an amateur. He probably rigged his horse wrong intentionally so it would jump. I would say he bet against himself. He also won the 6th another amateur event and paid $20.20

On top of the pick 5 amatuers, they will make late driver changes after the sequence starts waiting till the last minute for the harrahs drivers to arrive (or not)

I always thought the amateur races were bs. There were some drivers in them who were driving in regular races for decades, one name that comes to mind is Faraldo.
BTW, I remember your namesake Dinkadoo being sent up to monti for a 10k race and sears was there to drive him. He won easily and that was the only drive sears had on the card. I think Ford trained him. This was sometime after they opened that casino in the track and boosted the purses for a short time.

I don’t want to bet amateur races but I support their causes. Pompano Park did it pretty well. All amateur races were early. All the purse monies went to excellent causes. The great man John Berry publicized the events well and was in the winners circle regularly to present giant size checks to the various causes. There seemed to be some real friendships and respect between the amateurs and professionals. Here in the northeast they should become non betting races.

They would have been non betting races long ago.  If they didn’t average a higher handle than the other races.
