A White House official told HuffPost that Zacharia moved to China after graduating from law school for her husband’s job. While abroad, they said, “she worked on international transaction law.”
But even that claim seems flimsy at best.
A partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm in China, where Zacharia’s LinkedIn profile states she worked as an associate from 2011 to 2013, told the Times the firm hires foreigners to help bridge language and cultural divides.
“They are not practicing Chinese law at any time,” he said, characterizing her role there as more like a paid internship.
