Today at the Red Mile, Command Center won the 2nd $80,000 leg of the KY Championship Series in 1:54.1 on a relatively flat track. His dam is Mission Brief, by Gimpanzee. So far it would appear that there may turn out to be FOUR 1:51 or better foals out of the great Mission Brief SO FAR, if he goes on to get down to that mark next year. Apex (Hambo winner) is sired by Walner and has a current record of 1:49.2. Her other foal from Gimpanzee, of note, was Kadena, who marked in 1:51 as a filly and was sold for 1.2mm as a broodmare prospect. Mission Brief also foaled Vic Zelenskyy by Greenshoe who was blistering fast, but erratic, and took a mark of 1:50.1. He is now standing in Ohio. The mile by Command Center today was his record (in his 2nd race) and if he goes on to race in 1:51 next year (seems well on his way), that would be FOUR in 1:51 or better. As great as she was on the race track, she may turn out to be even better as a broodmare.
