Why is the purse structure so much better in Dayton than Columbus?

And you're probably better off racing at Dayton than Scioto.  You get to race for more money and Scioto is a speedway.  Smart owners would have a fresh horse for Dayton and let the Scioto horses be more rundown.

Go pull up the races and charts at Scioto the earlier part of the week-Tuesday and Wednesday night.  Fast races for the caliber of horses entered.  I believe the accident a few weeks ago was a 26 and change 1/4 and a 1/2 in about 55 (sub 55). 

Northfield has many of these races too.

Even the lesser quality horses take a ride to Northfield for less $$ but hopefully easier competition.
