DO DRIVERS STILL GET TIPS

Most tracks have very good purses, and the drivers make a nice living. Do drivers still get tips?

I send money with my trainer to do this as I am not local.  He shares the wealth I sent with the driver.

An interesting story for 1 and all.

When the first horse I owned won her first race in 2004, I went to the barns at pompano park (RIP) to meet my driver Walter Ross Jr.  I tipped him $ 50 for the drive. I literally had to push the money in his hands. He wouldn’t take it. I told him to take his wife to dinner.
