Vernon 6/12 EBC 3yr old trots and 3yr NYSS c&g pace

Early post time 1215.

Forecast-40% chance of rain between 1 and 4 pm when the races are going on.

Looks like the track did the shippers a big favor with an early post.  The horses get home after at sundown and the drivers get to catch their regular drives at night.

The only worthy races are the first six.

It's not forecasted to rain during those.

Then a 75% chance of rain / 1/2" between 2-4 pm.

So come hang out with us and then will hit the BigM and Mohawk for some of their stakes - weather all clear - FAST!  ;D

Worthy races?

For the owners or bettors??

I知 up here now awaiting the rain to come down on me.

Would the horses and drivers currently racing at Monticello be an improvement over the horses and drivers currently racing at Vernon??

The purses of the first six races, the type races they are, quality stakes races.

If all horses had past performances on we track, sadly not the case.

Weather forecasts too, often unpredictable, when there is even a hint of precipitation that it can go either way.

I came up here to get away from Florida. After the rain, it feels like Florida today.

It's coincidentally almost identical today.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
