26' Kentucky Derby - Recap
« on: Today at 06:39:02 AM »
19 horses before Great White reared up and fell over and Jock Alex Achard making a great move to not get squashed...
At 40 seconds...

That was sad for the big guy, just a beautiful big grey horse and jock where this derby was his first!

18 horses  tmbz1

Jose Ortiz / Golden Tempo gave one of the greatest rides ever - just as he's about to get squashed at the start he squeezes out of it, pulls back to last and sits 18th to the 3/4 pole and navigates an amazing victory.  Not flawless as he slams his bro and Renegade in the stretch.

No (public) inquiry (and no objections) in the race, lol could of been dozens.  In the stretch alone lmao.  ngc3

Renegade is durable, hands down the best horse, and best horse who didn't win for the amount of punishment and body brutality he took from start to finish, hit so hard at the beginning of the race with the momentum of not one but a half dozen horses of impact.  Heart of a beast!

Ocelli is a non winner of 7 races, still a maiden with earnings now of $609,800  ngc3

Incredibolt is a real deal, pummeled in the stretch (and pin-balled twice at the start) and still gliding rapidly faster than anyone once untangled.

Danon Bourbon, tough, took early punishment and still floated to the lead, lost by 0.55 seconds, wilted to 5th.

Awful ride on Pavlovian by Edwin Maldonado, clean break and rated horse to go 6-7 wide around first turn instead of jetting.  Speed on tap to pull this stunt, I think the last time the horse and jockey will be paired.  Finished dead last, final time 210.55!

Now with the head on replay...Commandm ent and Emerging Market, have no excuses.  So Happy caused pin-balling and suffered.  Further Ado got squashed, beginning and stretch, real bad.  Sorry to see JV even have to use the whip.

No one hit the high 5, $1,177,720 wagered $848,360 carryover.

Future pool exactas paid between $165.86 - 1,571.74, win from $4.58 - $74.90.

I'll never forgive myself for jumping off GT to DB  angbk jk  ngc3

JT, has great instincts (that I usually follow  angbk ), said before the start, box the top 5 jocks, 30 bux took down a $5k+ tri.

T O Elvis goes in every virtual stable, 108 E speed figure.  Was a big star on the card!

Congratulations to all the winning Plop cappers!  hvc.1

Until Saturday, May 1, 2027....be well, and let's do this again!  ;D
