Finally Governor Kathy Hochul does something right!
« on: March 06, 2026, 11:26:50 AM »
Horses were never meant to end their lives in slaughterhouses.

Kathy Hochul signed a new law in New York to protect horses from being sold or transported for slaughter.

The legislation makes it illegal to sell, possess, or transport horses in New York if the purpose is slaughter for human consumption.

For years, horses from the United States were often shipped across borders to slaughterhouses in other countries.

Animal welfare advocates say the new law helps close that pipeline and ensures horses are not treated like disposable commodities.

Supporters say the decision reflects growing recognition that horses deserve protection and dignity.

Because animals who carried humans for centuries should never end their lives in slaughterhouses.
