P.S. Walter drove some trotters for me in the mid 80's and did well with them.  He, Sonny Patterson, Ben Webster, John Campbell, Mickey McNichol were all preferred on my trotters over the years, as they seemed to have a special feel for them (and back then there were few horses who raced with trotting hobbles so the driver was even more critical to the success of a trotter until Ken Shand and then Carl Allen popularized the hobbles in the States.)
