Best New Year's Eves?

My best New Year's Eves were racing New Year's Eve at Maywood Park. (Last night of the meet).
At midnight in the snow, wind, and cold ship the stable to Hawthorne Park.
Be set up and race in the opening card of a New Year's Day double header .
"Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end we'd race and dance forever and a day".

Loved the late night Maywood races then back to Hawthorne the next day.  Before Hawthorne started racing harness (1970 or 71), my best NYE was 1968.  Went to Aurora Downs with two good friends and a buddy of theirs.  We all won and went out for pizza afterward.

Then Hawthorn double headers for the next six weeks. Would have never believed it would go this bad.
