Autopsies should be done on all horses that die in a race.  If that ever happened, there would be some nervous trainers!

If there is a big insurance claim I'd imagine they would demand or be entitled to one if they are liable to pay, but you horseman and owners know that better than me.

Mandatory autopsies  are done on every horse that dies in a race I believe already.

If that's true, it can't be very thorough.  You can't tell me that they wouldn't find all kinds of chemicals in these horses' systems.
