I give the nod to Beau Jangles. Knock to him would be is a 2yr old and never left his home track in canada.

I don't see any definitive candidates outside Beau Jangles, Louprint, Yo Tillie, and Miki And Minnie, and Lexus Kody will get some looks. I think those are the strongest candidates. Politically tough to give it to Beau Jangles, but politics aside, which you can't do, LOL, he should get it. Yes, we all know he didn't race in the US. But, he did show up to the big dances and beat the best in class on more than one occasion. Should he be punished that he did it north of the border? Should he be punished that the Metro and the BC were north of the border? I get it. Aside from that, it's rare for any 2yo to be named HOTY anyway.

Pretty hard not to be Beau Jangles. Getting more and more rare for a horse to put together a season like that.

Yo Tillie is amazing.  She could beat most if not all the boys in her age class, maybe any age class too and anywhere.  tmbz1

I agree with Here They Come on BJ!  Not just that he raced on his turf solely, but other more serious challengers had to travel.  Tough horse with heart!

Lexus Kody is a better horse then Yo Tillie. Beau Jangles is HOTY. He danced every dance, and he had no input on where the Breeders Crown was raced, and he won the other Grade 1 race for 2yo.

I believe if Louprint never had the testicle problem he would of been the biggest lock for HOY.  Given that Lexus Kody, Jangles, and Miki and Minnie remain in the equation.  My choice is LEXUS KODY, he traveled everywhere to all the big battles.  Watch his race in the Dayton trotting derby.

I agree that Lexus Kody should win horse of the year. He traveled everywhere, won big races on all size tracks, and even beat the best trotters in the world in the International Trot.

Nothing worse then when a testicle problem throws a wrinkle in your plans.
