Are you absolutely sure that you are not confusing revenue with profit?

I couldn’t believe it either but they average 70/80
Million a month in revenue.

he has three online partners and that's where most of the revenue is generated

the actual revenue from live on site sports betting is a very small percentage

I remember reading facts that they do 30M a month in revenue. Figure 350M a year. Thats before operations costs and taxes etc and then gurals cut.

Gural aint making close to 45 stacks IMO

Yes. AI does quickly tell us it's about 30M a month in revenue tied to 3 online platforms and the very small brick and mortar space combined.

Other than the Meadowlands Pace and Hambo the Meadowlands racetrack is  a ghost town now.  I’d say 90% of the people that go are for the sports book now.  Gural is clearly getting his clock cleaned on operational costs.  There are virtually no young people there even remotely interested in the racing.  I give him 2 more years and if no casino he tries to sell.  Will be interesting to see if anyone is interested in taking over.  I wouldn’t say that’s a lock.

I don't think he has to "sell" to walk and get back money. Not sure. Don't care. His deal is his deal. Good for him. He is supposed to want a casino, be profit motivated, and make money. If he didn't make the deal he did, there would be no track, no racing, etc. Everyone can say it would have never happened, never closed, etc., but that's nothing more than wishful conjecture at best, simply to support someone's opinion.

he is leasing the property--he cannot sell anything

if the referendum doesn't pass in next Novembers vote--racing could stop in 2027

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
