Abolishing harness racing would be more cruel
Oh I'll respond to this one. First of all it's state funded. If you're inferring these horses will all end up in kill pens if "abolished" that's bullshit. The majority already do, deal with it. But why did you skip trying to clean it up by banning the criminals we already know are guilty? Let's just start with those you've all seen the evidence that they've been screwing all of you for decades. And back to "more cruel". Cruel is creating an animal just for profit and when that viability is over you send them to brokers, Amish, kill pens. Why are all the so-called rescues overflowing to the point they can't take anymore. SRF is maxed out right now with nearly 500 Standardbreds being warehoused with no homes in sight. So maybe start with cleaning up your criminal game. That's still not going to do anything about the thousands and thousands of Standardbreds you already send down the bad road when you're "done" with them. And if you abolish the industry, the breeding comes to a screeching halt too. Thus the endless supply of fresh Standardbred meat will also slow and cease. Get it??? Fact is the industry doesn't give two shits what happens to these animals after the fact. And that's a FACT.
