You're probably right, but what a great career. She went so big miles through her career......was very entertaining.  You obviously never know but should make a good broodmare.    I wonder who she'll go to....Cattlewash??

It's likely to be an Ontario stallion because the border might get tighter before it gets looser. Cattlewash if they stay home. Sweet Lou if they go afield.

always interested to see how these mares that were raced hard do as broodmares
she is from a very good maternal family and a half sister to western fame
her half sister amerway has been an excellent producer
we shall see

A very good horseman told me years ago. Beware of those mares that race like geldings. Buy one out of a sister instead. That theory works more often than not.

Why not Bull Dog? Stan that theory is pretty accurate. Daughters of top mares their foals usually pan out.

Was very hard on herself with the way she chose to race.  Those kind of miles add up.

Article doesn’t say if she was sold or if they are keeping her. For the most part Steacy tends to sale and not breed. If sold I would expect to see her go too an American stallion in PA. For duel eligibility maybe Ohio but even with the inflated prices their this year Ohio is still a little behind others

Tony Infilise has been in the game for a long time. He's had more success recently and he's playing the game at a higher level now than before. If the # is right, he'll sell, but it will have to be a big # or else he has no problem keeping her. He'd prefer to. After the stallion question comes the question of-----does her sell the foal or not, LOL. He'll talk to his advisors and go from there. The plan was to send her to Kentuckiana Farms.

"While most findings were positive, an injury to her collateral ligament was discovered, requiring approximately four months of rest. Although her prognosis for a racing return was favorable, we have chosen to retire her now
and look forward with great excitement to cheering on her future foals."

Listening carefully to y'all and respecting your expertise, and reading between the lines here, and the word "now" was not necessary, I think a tell, yeh, she is going to un-retire.

I think they're testing the market, if she's sold, can't she still race for the new owner if she's sound?

What kind of odds should I get on that prediction, when un-retiring would be accurate?

Agree… if and when she has a full sister she will be better than the great race mare.  But, her first couple foals will be hyped and sell well..

she only had 53 lifetime starts
I don’t think she was over raced personally

Insightful  ngc3

More like shallow and dishonest, considering you're on the attack of an animal advocate herein that actually knows and does what's best for all horses, including the retired.

Can you try harder to not be a contradicting idiot?  ;D
