Timmy T is absolutely not as good as he used to be
« on: October 18, 2025, 09:03:41 PM »
What a jack off drive on Sylvia tonight! Pressing to the front is sometimes your only option, but he was 2 lengths off the gate when it sprung.  He would have been much better off had he sat parked instead of getting her imo. She would have been much better off if McClure drover her! SMFH.  11.wp 11.wp 11.wp ( and NO,I DIDN’T BET HIM)

Tetrick is old and seem better days but he was one of the greats,     Wayne Gretsky is a bad hockey player these days and im sure of it ,   no point to this post as we all know his timing is off and his hands are not magic these days,    Ricky Henderson was playing in the minor leagues for a few years riding buses and loved the life of a ball player and people were saying he should quit but he did the right thing for ricky

He and Woodbine do not seem to get along.  He has given some of the worst drives of his career at that track.  I would think that trainers are heavily incented (both in terms of money and reputation) to employ the best catch drivers they can AND also are in a position to make a judgement about their skills and this year both Ron Burke and Ake Svanstedt have employed Tim on horses that Ake didn't drive himself (or where he had more than one) or where Burke's "first call" drivers (Yannick, Page, Wrenn) weren't available.  Thus, they certainly feel that Tim is certainly still capable.  The UDRS statistics also bear out that he is doing just fine:
For those who have won more than $2mm in purses (he has about $8mm so far)..here are some of the UDRS numbers for drivers he is ahead of:
Tim Tetrick .329
Chris Page .324 (with a ton of Burke horses, still below TT)
Doug McNair .321
Tyler Buter .319
Louis Roy .316
Todd McCarthy .310
Yannick Gingras .305
Bob McClure .303

What else could he do with R Duchess when the entire field left, he made the finals which is all that matters. He had no chance to win from that post. Tetrick's actually had a much better year this year than last year, he's already equaled his purse earnings from last year of 7.8 million.

Everybody has their run, and Timmy has had his. He's slowed down ever since the Fishman stuff exploded. Look at King. Since Timmy has backed out of the picture.

Tim can still get the job done but I think the horses he drive for Burke would do better with Wrenn.

Timmy got lucky he had his run before the down under boys showed up. Good luck to the new guys with Noel, Brett and Chris winning all the big races.

Tetrick had his run because he was a great driver not because he was lucky. Eventually every great driver is overtaken and phased out by drivers who are more talented, even so, Tetrick is still a very good driver..
