Not sure if they were talking at all more so that or so many in such proximity to each other across the track and behind was kind of unusual and they didn't want to have a post race brush up and they were just looking side to side to avoid hitting wheels.

Possibly you are correct too, the wheels got tight with the 3 and 1 and 5 on each side of Young.  2m46s of the replay they show the head on.
