I remember a veteran police officer, who was a field training chief, told me-----if you are pulled over, be polite, respectful, leave your hands on the steering wheel, ask for permission to reach for your wallet, license, etc., tell them where you are reaching, don't make any sudden moves, etc. Simply common sense.
