not sure about racing the hide off her
that was her seventh start of the year
clearly she has had sickness issues throughout the year
she got a second 1/4 in 29 and the last 3/4 in 125.3 and walked across the line
clearly had some issues last night

Seems like owner/breeder wants to get as much out of their fillies at 2 and 3 so race the fuck out of them because when they are done racing they get a great home and become mommas.  Very succesful operation.

As stated above this filly has not had the hide raced off her - she had hardly left Ontario, was put away early last year and up until Pocono hadn’t done much heavy lifting.  She seems to have some level of issues but 123 to 3/4 from the 8 hole seems to a tall task at Rideau - at least from my previous experience racing in the Gold several years ago.  She might not be right but also not sure James rated her very well

A break from what......has been raced very conservatively and has only left Ontario once...mostly racing OSS. Only has 16 lifetime starts this year. If Betty Clegg owned her she would have 16 starts this month.

Yeah this filly is the opposite of overraced. If anything, I'd think not 100% fit yet.

I am not sure what her issues are but she clearly has one or more. Has been in to go and scratched at least twice in stakes (lung infection, as I recall) and really hasn't come back from that.

A 5hr race day ship, 8 hole and a 3 wide park out 26.2 around a flat turn at RCR is treacherous to overcome for any filly..

By staying in on August 8, the Panel of Stewart, Gillies and Lawrence felt Chantilly
had been driven in an inconsistent matter (AGCO Rule 22.11).
• Two Rulings have been issued against Mr. Macdonald:
• Ruling #3338511 – $1,000 monetary penalty – Mr. Macdonald drove Chantilly in an
inconsistent manner, AGCO Rule 22.11.
• Ruling #3338498 – five-day driving suspension (to be served September 21 – 25,
inclusive) for causing interference and making contact with another horse (Grit N
Grace) in the stretch. AGCO Rule 22.05.01(a).

Plus there’s a hidden asterisk *

Can take his days after stakes season, when it’s cold & going away on vacation…

I saw an live interview about 10 days ago which her connections stated that  she has been  cramping ( tying up) during her recent races. They also stated that this is a new issue that was priorly not an issue. Unfortunately the one way to see if the treatment plan is working is to continue to race her.
