Many of us grew up with Monticello. I must have been there personally a couple of hundred times.Keep in mind. There is no casino there. Purses are low but mostly supported by handle which is non existent these days.If you have been weaned on Monti and Yonkers, like me, you likely abandoned Yonkers years if not decades ago.I stopped Monti a few months back, not because I was losing there, but there is so much inbred racing that I don't need headache. And there are a couple of "rail for sale" guys that turn my stomach.
There are plenty and I mean plenty of drivers still hacking away at horses on the daily yet Rawlings repeatedly gets called out on it while they keep on driving without a single fine. It’s BS and he’s singled out, period. If they want to stop all this “abuse” take the whips the fuck away. End of problem. Take his license away they better start taking everyone’s away.

I watched the replay of the second violation with Icarus Lobell and didnt see much wrong except if he kept whipping after the wire which the video cut off. Still not like the old days. Anyone remember Tony Dandeo at Freehold? 😂

Just saw that he was denied a license in NY! Does that mean he is done for good? Hope so!
Unless you are dead, there is no such thing as done for good in harness racing.
No more whips. Force the drivers to use their hands and their brains. If they have either, they will do fine.
