It seems insane what’s going on with 2 year olds no doubt. But regardless of this subject or other issues, the sport is quickly dying for reasons that are obvious. The horse populations at harness tracks is dropping like crazy. The betting public has very little interest in the sport. Most of the betting is being done by people 55 and older. The USTA has had little interest in saving the sport from themselves. A track like Yonkers has less people attending for an entire year than they used to get on one Saturday night in the 60’s and 70’s. And this is a track with the best purses and overall quality of race horses. The sport is on life support.
