Chantilly/Miki and Minnie
« on: August 17, 2025, 08:02:57 AM »
Chantilly's prep was a bit screwed up and she seemed to be moving back to top form today; next time they hook up I think the results are reversed and for the rest of this year (if there are no more excuses) Chantilly may show that she is, in fact, the Dan Patch winner for her class this year over Miki and Minnie.  If they keep racing her for a few years I also think she will break Shartin N's all-age record of 1:46.4 (set by Shartin N at the age of 6 at the Meadowlands during a Hambletonian DAY, I believe.)

The three mares are very close. I expect they will only race against each other one more time in October in Canada. I would give a slight edge to Miki and Minnie.

You're kidding. The three mares are close? Shartin N resume is LIGHT YEARS better than the other two combined.

Chantilly is not staked to any other races but the OSS Gold

they wont meet until November-maybe

I was wondering about that. I don't blame the connections at all. Just hang out in Canada and dominate the OSS Gold.. until the breeders crown.

Miki and Minnie would have to fall off a cliff not to be 3yo filly pacer of the year.  She will have danced in all the major stakes and Chantilly’s resume will be that of an overqualified sire stakes horse

I think Sylvia will give the 46.4 a run.

100% agree!  They would need to continue dominating for years before they are in Shartin’s league!  They are great 3yo filly’s, but let’s not talk crazy just yet.  This is like comparing Beckeith to John Campbell!   ngc3

how can anyone possibly compare 3yo fillies, who's season isn't over yet, to an accomplished 6yo mare?

too many races to be run before that--and very iffy if either will race beyond the age of 3

getting way ahead of yourself

I took Kenny to be referring to Miki and Minnie, Chantilly and Rodeo Drive Deo all being close and the three will only race against each other one more time this year  (BC)

I think this fall at the red mile with the right weather, track condition,  Sylvia and Twin B match could defintley become a new world record.  Finish could go either way

I certainly did not

Rodeo Drive Deo wasnt mentioned in his post, but Shartin was

maybe Kenny for further elaborate

Chantilly raced well vs Minnie--actually put her back in the pocket briefly on the far turn

since Chantilly blasted and made the lead easily-i doubt post positions played any roll in the outcome

Miki Minnie doesn't have any early speed--DD did well to get her where she was before the racing really started
