Rather surprisingly, the 2nd race replay was (is)
part of tv article from the weekend. Still up.
Replay of 2nd race.

Just before start, :56 of tape, apparently starting gate makes contact with three yr child at fence (which you thankfully dont see), 1:08 mark you hear announcer whisper 'what happened', as screams are heard lightly in background below.  Race continues with announcer asking for ambulance and/or doctor. Race is completed without further play by play comment, as 4 horsemen didnt know there had been incident. Normal post race slo mo stretch replay production included, as tv crew may not have been aware about the tragic moment.

Sadly, the child has passed away.

Police inv is underway. Tragic accident investigation no doubt to review starting gate getaway.

Yes it's twice now. Happened in 2023 also. Might be time for tracks including and especially fair tracks to take a look into how wide their tracks are, how wide their gates are and how close the fans and the fences are. Starter has the one hole right where he should be here too. The problem is obvious. This is so avoidable there really are no words.
