He has made a very comfortable career of running second and third over the years with an occasional win picture in the mix. Loves to ride the rail and pick up also ran checks.

Had this conversation last night. He was 'warned' a couple/three years back about his selective efforts on the track.
Its actually a fun handicapping consideration; is this the night?

Part of handicapping—you gave to take a good guess who is trying and who isn’t based on post position and who is driving!!

its very simple his father is rich Mike La Chance, if you have a horse with him good luck, the bills are alittle high and he really is  not a good driver.

Many trainers charge too much from what is said on horseplop. In this case if Pat trains your horse, he drives your horse. Up to an owner if he can live with this arrangement.

Patrick will never be compared favorably to his HOF dad. However he has been a steady horseman for many years now as a trainer. I do not recall him ever have been in trouble for drugs or abusing his horses. I don’t recall him using a whip too often. He seems to have a steady list of French Canadian owners who have been with him for many years. Besides his driving ability I think an owner could do a lot worse than Pat.

Does he carry his ‘winnings’ in a suitcase too?

And this is relevant today because Lachance’s father did it like 50 years ago? Maybe we should accuse Lee Harvey Oswald’s children if they plan an assignation of Joe Biden since their father killed JFK 60 years ago?

sure, he's great if you basically just want an overnight horse that nets very little money at the end of the year
but pat keeps himself employed and i'm sure bets a few dollars on those nights he decides its go time
