Does anyone else think that the amount of accidents recently have increased ?

I've read about some bad ones at the fairs that have not made it onto Plop or the USTA site.

I think accidents will happen.
Top drivers I've spoken to figure they will get into some kind of mishap once in about 1,000 drives.
There's always conversation on this subject which usually don't really change anything significantly.

But there is one thing that can be done to cut down on the extent of injuries to driver and horse after an accident occurs.
And it's certainly not popular with Casino and Track operators.
I've submitted a rule change to the USTA stating that if any part of a horse (feet excluded) or driver hit the ground causing an accident, that race is immediately declared a no contest.
Why ?
Some injuries are so severe that response 60 seconds sooner can save lives.
The USTA rejected my request.

Just my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.
Thanks for the question.
