Cal Fixpo Special

Wow this one was really something. Race 7. FFA Pace . Late driver change on the #6 to Tim Brown, whose last PM win came on 08/26/2017. Driver Rene Goulet originally scheduled but changed off to this guy. Goulet is still there as he has a drive in Race 8.

Horse swallows up field and wins going away by open lengths. Fastest mile for the meet and knocks a second off the lifetime mark. Check out the lines.

Horse has been trounced against open company and never been close to these types with real catch drivers. Driver showboats when winning and beating field.

Then, after the horses pass the wire and Brown is driving the horse towards the Winner's circle, Svendsen, the driver of the favorite comes over and high fives Brown. Yep.

Svendsen also gave the most bizarre drive to his horse in the stretch, as it looks like he was ripping the lines off the horse. Never seen a guy do what he was doing. Oh and the winner was trained by Kathleen Plested (who Svendsen drives AND has horses with).

Now, Cal Expo is known for race fixing but I don't think I've ever seen such a blatant example. My goodness.

I post about Cal-Fixpo's cheaters all the time. 91zxa.1

But this race really looked fucked up! 68xv.2

There was zero reason to switch Rene Goulet to Tim Brown on this horse other than to get 35-1. 68xv.2

Tim Brown is so bad Rene Goulet is like John Campbell compared to Brown. tmbz1 ngc3 ngc3

Rene Goulet won the next race on Bob Johnson's horse who Lemoyne normally drives for, as the chalk.

$49,306 in the PK4 Pool and only $613 live tickets after Brown went last to first at 35-1. 68xv.2

I gave Cal-Fixpo the respect they deserved by getting up and going home. tmbz1

I actually hit the pick 4 but I just found this sequence of evens in a single race astounding. Wiseman qualifies the horse twice--not bad quals mind you. Wiseman's there driving, it's his wife's horse and Goulet is there but for some reason they HAD to switch to Tim Brown as a catch driver? Oh and Goulet also has never driven for Plested in the last year, so you know they put him down for a price anyhow.   Then, to top it off, the loser of the favorite comes up and high fives the winning driver right on the track not even a minute after the race is over? Come on man.

I really gotta get a gif of what Svendsen was doing to "urge" his horse. He looks like he was ripping the lines to keep the horse from advancing forward.

Edit: So looking through the horse's lines I found one possible connection to Brown, he trained the horse last year for a few starts. But guess what--he never drove the horse once.

99% sure this is Svendsen coming up to high five Brown (can't believe the replay actually showed this on the site and it literally stops right after that).

Watch Svendsen's stretch drive and tell me if it's weird or not.

To The Limit by Panspacificflight and Hoosier Vacation, trained by Kathleen Plested, driven by Timothy Brown, wins the Lloyd Arnold Free For All Pace at Cal Expo Saturday Night. To The Limit set a new life time mark of 150.3, which ties his sire's mark (Panspacificflight, Mohawk Raceway, June 5, 2004, 150.3). He is a closer like his daddy and came home like a freight train Saturday night.

Unfortunately, many good horseman left Cali for more money and have had a lot of success back east such as Ross Croghan, Gilbert Garcia-Herrera, Matias Ruiz, Paul Blumenfeld, Mark Silva, Lou Pena, etc. Did I mention Ron Pierce started his driving career out west. Although the purses are not very good, there are still good horses and a lot of hard working horseman in California. As always, the late pick 4 has a low 16% take out and is a popular bet at Cal Expo. It doesn't hurt that Gary Seibel and Jennifer Bongiorno offer the betting public their picks each racing night. Good luck to all!

Can't help but notice your username shares a striking resemblance to the listed owner of the horse. Care to explain why Brown was substituted on the horse late? Why the driver of the favorite, who finished second, came over and high fived Brown on the track? Is this really a good look for the integrity of the sport? I'm not declaring this race was fixed per se, but there are an incredible amount of shady elements that transpired in this race.

The driver change was actually made on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Timothy Brown is well liked in the barn area and doesn't get many drives. He was 0 for 20 before driving To The Limit Saturday night. This was Limit's first race back after getting a well deserved rest. The layoff did him good and it showed in the stretch run. I don't know why Svendsen gave Brown a high five after the race, other than he was happy for Brown that he was given the opportunity to drive and won the race.

I made money. And yes, I always take into account this aspect of a track like that. You also have to be delusional if you don't think this kind of stuff doesn't go on elsewhere. Hell, Chicago used to have way more fishy races on a night to night basis. One major reason it's gone.

I think this is the same tim brown that was involved in a race fixing scandal at Fraser downs or Cloverdale raceway years ago.

Nobody on plop has a higher heightened level of awareness than me about the amount of cheating at Cal-Fixpo. tmbz1

But my buddy didn't drink the Koolaid on this one like I did. tmbz1

I mistakenly said this was the $10,000 Lloyd Arnold Pace and even Meth Head Lemoyne would be trying! 94z.sm

I have called Chris Schick a liar in my emails to him and the CHRB that I copied and posted right here at plop.

Cal-Fixpo leads the country in convicted druggie horsemen doing drugs themselves and fixing races. 68xv.2 43xc.2

Cal-Fixpo has now and has had more horsemen convicted of race fixing than any other jurisdiction.

Popping a piss test and/or being forced into rehab is NOT an accident or a simple mistake!  91zxa.1

Meth is NOT a result of accidental Environmental Contamination! ngc3 ngc3

So what do drug addicts do to feed their habit? Cheat and steal. 77z.chf

Ray Burt testified against Cal-Fixpo race fixers the Maiers and admitted to accepting payoffs to stiff. 91.jzail

What did Schick and the CHRB do about it? 98za.ag

Nothing. 11.dt

To me, looks like Svendsen is playing rapid-fire slot machines in the stretch
