Question is:  With multi-million dollars stallions involved, where's the night watchman to reel in a loose filly?

If you've ever encountered a loose horse you'd know it often takes time.

I have and even more reason to have a night watchman guarding your prize possession. If you think for one minute Bret Hanover or Albatross didn't have night watchman, you're highly mistaken. Anything can happen at any time -- cast in a stall, etc. -- a knowledgeable human needs to be present to reduce the risk of serious injury.

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
