Thriving!   At least 17 people will be in attendance.  His name is Miller, so that is a built in 11.

Racing for big money these days thanks to the welfare money from the Casino's, if they were racing on the money wagered on harness racing they would be racing for peanuts

A list of the $15mil+ seasons for a driver.  All but 3 before 2020.  Now, adjust for inflation.  Then tell me drivers are doing better than ever.

The sport, thanks to its HUMAN participants, is failing and will likely continue to at an increasing rate.

Racing for big money these days thanks to the welfare money from the Casino's, if they were racing on the money wagered on harness racing they would be racing for peanuts

They wouldn't be racing at all, they're just about all upside down, would be operating up to a HUGE loss, so therefore there would be no racing.  Let's not forget the owner equation, they'd be on the hook for training, vet bills, other expenses...nah, no chance racing for $1k purses  ngc3

i hate to agree with Pacer but he is right,    For JAMES and ANTHONY MAC AND LOUIS ROY, BOB MCLURE And many YONKERS trainers the game is in great shape and yes its in super bad shape for the racing fan but none of the above could give a crap and as long as they are walking around with huge smiles why would the game change.

This thread, like all of his threads and posts combine have proved to a certainty one thing for sure...

Pacer 2 is a harness racing bottom feeder.

At the very bottom with the piss & manure.

He's the lowest paid, volunteer twat at or on behalf of the USTA who continues to promote everything bad about racing like it's normalized proportionally in the world we live in.  He's also a regular type gambler.  A fucking socialist too.

I'm the recipient of his IGGYing me, I couldn't be more elated to trash this scumbag, lowlife with immunity...feels great!, and inspiring to continue to make this whole industry feel so uneasy they really start not sleeping well, make mistakes... ;D

Trig,,, Think about it and yes you are a 100 percent right that the game is worse than dead but that is for the fans and no future fans in the future but for trainers and drivers and management the game is in great shape because they could care less about the fan or gambler and believe me they watch races and no that its a shit show and could care less and if management could do something their choice would be to get rid of me and you because they believe we are the problem,,,,,           One day it will be over and that is why unlike in harness history where it was generation after generation with people with the same last names and that is no longer the case with some of the biggest families like WAPLES and FILLION and LA CHANCE are not going to exist very soon,          Trig during the depression 99 percent of the people suffered but there was no depression for the CAPONE boys and it the same in racing with the only people getting up the rear is the gamblers.

240 mil lost in last two years alone. But they all bang on state capital doors screaming for more welfare because they create jobs. Their worst nightmare is now the public and those politicians that were elected by them is being educated. Opening that can of worms with people asking why are they funding a criminal industry that uses living beings which are discarded like trash after the fact. While people are starving, homeless, veterans, etc who actually deserve a leg up. Not non stop welfare to fund a dead industry that does nothing to improve anything. Slowly the veil hiding what has been done for decades is being pulled back. It's called reality and accountability. Five years, that's the timeline. You'll have plenty to talk about here.  tmbz1

In 2025, $483,239,570 was distributed in purses in 33,412 races over 3,070 race days,
1.3 billion in handle.
For simple comparison in California alone 12 billion was handed out in food stamps. Let’s not compare an industry that provides jobs and tax revenue to simple welfare. The slots agreements are a tax on casinos not the public.

Stan, the question I always ask is " How many tracks would be able to actually thrive without some sort of help?" I think that while a few tracks might make it without the "help", most would not. And what is harness racing's prospects in the years ahead? No gambling "venture" can survive if it is viewed as corrupt. And while harness racing's poor "policing" of its fixers and horse abusers chases away new fans, the loyal old ones are getting less and less. Racing here in Maine, a once "thriving" example of small track racing, is in sad shape. I feel for the honest horseman trying to make a living in a sport very few people under the age of 50 really know. But harness racing's officials need only look in the mirror to see who's to blame for the demise of harness racing.

Cmon PAP your smarter than this post as you know those stats are pure bullshit because ELITE taken away would make the stats real and then it becomes reality,    -9.44 Percent can not be true with the people including me who understand that they are dealing from the bottom of the deck and you cant win,    New people are told that a huge overlay is an underlay because its not trying and underlays are winning in droves and that is not what gamblers look for a 25 percent chop with only underlays being in position to win.

Very true

the -9.44% is including the ever increasing amount of CAW handle, so the decrease, in reality, is much more than the 9.44% reported.

it is reaching the point of cannibalism, with not much retail handle to pickpocket

There was one real good good place to go for horse racing posts and its ready to shut down because it full of real players and almost all have quit.   i did not post much their but the read was great but it was a TB site and this site is not much of a horse racing site and getting worse by the day,    i never thought there would be a day that a 2.80 shot would win and i would not  only be in shock with the 2.80 but i did not even know he would be chalk and the days of a gambler figuring out a set up horse with a 10-1 payoff or higher are over with the soft racing and drivers giving up holes and making it no stress racing,     You look at the BIGM and it looks like a good race as the gate leaves with mostly young drivers and an eighth in its single file on a surface that has little movement a horse won the first tonight being no good at WESTERN FAIR and a two hole trip 2 lines down in bottom 8 claiming and a tired third and he is 3-5 leaving and no one even posts about this,    At MOHAWK you have tyler BORTH and SCOTT young who are never in a race being so week with their soft driving and giving up huge holes to fit in with their friends and i find it shocking that TYLER BORTH went back to his garbage driving ways of a few years ago just to be part of the crew,   its really hard to believe that people are betting this track with the worst pre game show ever recorded and listening to lisa BLOWE even makes randy look like a pro but it gives you no feeling of anything but a BARNUM and BAILEYS circus,  At Northfield two guys look like CASE and OUELETTE and both are nothing special but drive yahoo style on a track that is a yahoo type track and with no prices they do a good handle and again who is betting this crap because i know Zero gamblers that bet Northfield unless there is a carryover.
