This is my second to last Secretariat Club thread for the year. This one will span today through Fri & Sat Del Mar Breeders Cup race days, opening day is Thursday, October 30th, however I'm only studying and seeking to wager on Fri October 31 & Sat November 1.
Del Mar, CA weather looks awesome, I'm calling it FAST and FIRM this early right through BIG Saturday!
Here is their calendar, post position draws are tomorrow, Monday, so the past performances will be out likely Monday night or Tuesday.

Horses will be coming in from everywhere and I'm going to study the shit out of every horse in every race because there is going to be a shit ton wagered. I took off last Sunday to this last Thursday and I made $2500 and that's with a loss on Friday, and a winning day Saturday. That shows with R&R and studying, good results.
Hopefully they'll record and post workout videos.
After this thread, then a Secretariat Club thread from 11/2-12/31/25, likely no wagers from me, y'all do what you like ngc3, unless something comes my way because other than a very small new virtual stable, I'm seeking no races to wager on. A vacation for 2 months, holidays and familiarize and be studious toward Hong Kong racing!
In Chinese The Secretariat Club is called 秘书处俱乐部 (Mìshū chù jùlèbù), but we'll still call it The Secretariat Club, lol, will see me discuss and post primarily Hong Kong starting ----> Thursday, 1/1/26!

Last year it was East Avenue and Sovereignty primarily - both Godolphin, some others added on along the way but both those equal primaries. We know how that went. Very fortunate. In all the pools for about $1500 and I think I got back around $3300. Sovereignty odds dropped, East Avenue failure, an exacta with all paid good before Journalism was included I think, the wins very good, the oaks / derby dd not so great I think. Hit the sire bs too. Played way too much and got lucky with Sovereignty carrying the whole load for me. ;D

I share the enthusiasm over Napoleon Solo; he looked much the best in the Champagne and is certainly an early favorite in my mind. I love the pedigree on both sides; my only concern is that sons and grandsons in the Scat Daddy line sometimes have better 2 yo campaigns and fade a bit in the third year, Caravaggio being the standard example here. Some other examples are grandson Boppy O, who came out strong but faded under tougher comp, and Pappacap the brother who never really lived up to potential after a good start. But, we all know this is a strong line that produces well on dirt and the horse looked great last week. Hard to find much at this stage to be super excited about, but I really do like Napoleon Solo from what I have seen thus far. Nice bet, the box all is a stronger take than I would probably be willing to concede right now because I think the field for the 26 Derby might be narrow and you could end up with too short a price on the winning box.

#2 Baeza at 122 lbs as a 3yo, looking good and back home in the west.
#7 Sierra Leone won this as a 3yo weight allowance, 4lbs more but think he's going to love this again.

Wishing Sovereignty well, but this became a much more interesting race to bet with him out. Cases can be made for almost every horse in this field.
I've been a big fan of Baeza most of the year but I've come to believe that the fast races don't favor him and the slow races favor too many in this field for him to rise above. If I saw some progress in the works or in the results over the year, it would have swayed me. But, over the course of this year Baeza has only been able to win when no one else in this field is in the paddock, and the works are scattershot. I also like him on the west coast; but his success has been at SA and not DMR; subtle difference but notable.
I know this is the shiny pick this week, but I like Forever Young at the wire over SL. I think last year the pace was set by others and he was tempted to run along with them. Contrary Thinking was ineffective as the rabbit in the Jockey Club earlier this year, however, and Johnny V found a patience formula with Fierceness in the Pacific Classic that I would expect to see again. The other speed horses have all shown decline over the summer. I think FY can stay at a pace that is more manageable than last year's BC, and similar to Antiquarian in the Jockey Club and maintain enough to hold off Sierra Leone for the win.
I'll peek at live odds to make sure it makes sense, but I'm big on boxing the 5 and the 7 in this race and would be strongly motivated to box a super 2,5,7,8. Hopefully Irad can hold on this time :)

That's how you turn chalk on top into monster exotics, however using all with favs not a keen idea. Tough horse to have as a contender, my key there were the 2,3,14 yet 8 was a like with another five horses, but the 6, that one didn't make it on my paper and he finished 3rd in the hi5.
Anyway, last Friday bad BC day, today the same, Last Saturday was very good, tomorrow needs to be too.
All 12 races capped, but I'm not early wagering. 1st race has 4 ae's still, yet early scratches are out. Earlier start though, 1:05 PM EST.
I'll go about the same tomorrow in $ commitment, @ $750 but pounding race 9, the Classic for at least a third of that!

TRIG: IT a JOKE. I mentioned on a post that years ago,I did a research paper livin in the DRUNKIN ;DRUG riddled section of MADISON street in CHIAGO. Learned all about SOUP KITCHENS from that experience. All RUN by broken down PASTORS preachin RELIGION. Had to sit before eatin a 1/2 hour lecture about GOD givin away FISH. Was there for 4 days,livin in a bed bug invested roomin house or $10.00 a night. Had to throw me cloths in the dumpter when I returned home,shave me head and take a scrup brush to thoroly clean my self in shower. But I was a big hit in class where I did me presentation in front of class and turned in me write up research paper to professor. I might add: All me RESEARCH papers in UNDERGRAD and GRAD school,GICANTIC HITS. Everyone loved it and of course I got a A just on that alone for the course. I did stuff,no one else would ever consider doin. And the students learned a lot. But me was ARMY and nuttin bothered me.
Want to say one last tin. No SOUP by me. But a mile away is a PANTRY. Open 3 days a week. And most also on SNAP. KNOW i don't mind individuals collectin. They got kids. But 2 thins aggrevate me at times. (1) Is the automobiles they drive. I drive a 2003 HONDA CIVIC. They or most drive brand new AUTOMOBILES. (2) I goes to me gas station and they have 6 gamblin machines and I see 2 people I know that are on SNAPS and go to the PANTRY and they in there all the time playin the VIDIO machines.
But here there angle.They not married,but have kids with their signiicant other. They live togeather and that other works and brings in a nice income. TAXtime he just pays his. It kinda of a rackett. BUT I just me on me own bitchin. But I got one tin goin for me. I BE ARMY.

Wishing Sovereignty well, but this became a much more interesting race to bet with him out. Cases can be made for almost every horse in this field.
I've been a big fan of Baeza most of the year but I've come to believe that the fast races don't favor him and the slow races favor too many in this field for him to rise above. If I saw some progress in the works or in the results over the year, it would have swayed me. But, over the course of this year Baeza has only been able to win when no one else in this field is in the paddock, and the works are scattershot. I also like him on the west coast; but his success has been at SA and not DMR; subtle difference but notable.
I know this is the shiny pick this week, but I like Forever Young at the wire over SL. I think last year the pace was set by others and he was tempted to run along with them. Contrary Thinking was ineffective as the rabbit in the Jockey Club earlier this year, however, and Johnny V found a patience formula with Fierceness in the Pacific Classic that I would expect to see again. The other speed horses have all shown decline over the summer. I think FY can stay at a pace that is more manageable than last year's BC, and similar to Antiquarian in the Jockey Club and maintain enough to hold off Sierra Leone for the win.
I'll peek at live odds to make sure it makes sense, but I'm big on boxing the 5 and the 7 in this race and would be strongly motivated to box a super 2,5,7,8. Hopefully Irad can hold on this time :)
