some direction from track ownership would be helpful
« on: March 26, 2020, 09:44:54 AM »
I realize this is a challenging situation for everyone, and situations are changing from hour to hour. That being said some sort of statement from racetracks ownership/management such  as' WE WILL NOT BE RACING TILL AT LEAST SUCH AND SUCH DATE" would be helpful to owners and trainers to defer some costs of keeping horses in training. Guidance would be greatly appreciated.

yesterday WEG announced that the start of the tbred season has been delayed( don't know until when) from the original start of April 18
seems very unlikely they would start harness back up before  then

Rules were different state by state when things closed. Might be the same when they hopefully eventually open.

I'm not saying they should give a firm date. But guidance such as "we will be re-evaluating our racing schedule on april 16th"

Everytrack will probably have their own timetable. Yonkers, Meadowlands and others in large cities will be the last to open. Some of the tracks in NY are out in the boonies. Tioga and Vernon for example. Race the Hambo at Vernon..

No track wants the liability of racing, it would be stupid to give any possible dates now, like trump saying easter, false sense of hope be realistic, they will let you know, when they know something.

Do you really think they are going to keep their Casinos closed till the fall? Don't think so. When the casinos open so will the tracks. The Country HAS to get back to work or we will not have a country left.
