Top drivers are back, had some nice races last night, yet still fell far short of their $3m handle goal.
Are the cheap races causing the decline in handle?
Are there too many other venues for people to bet?
Is this handle now the norm?

At least 1/2 the races are with Freehold type horses. From mid-November until April it's even worse. Meadowlands has become Freehold north.

Unable to commit to hosting the hambletonian any longer
Managed to represent the industry and his track so poorly, that Gov Sherrill wants to decimate the state funded purse related subsidy in 2027
Efforts to secure a casino vote on the November ballot universally viewed as incredibly disappointing some might say shockingly inept
Will close his racing operations permanently if he doesnt get a casino as his racetrack operation is a financial disaster
