......that (all) drivers abide by.
We all know the even money (or less) shot allows the give and go to let some 99/1 shot end up in the pocket from an outside post.
What about when a 1/1 shot is forced to take the pocket by another 1/1 shot only to then have the leading 1/1 shot attempt the above give and go with the 99/1 outsider?
Is it also an unwritten rule that the 1/1 shot that had to take the pocket CANNOT pull out right on the back of the 99/1 shot, go around him, denying the leader the chance to complete the give and go with the 99/1 shot, forcing him to tag around in the 3-hole behind the 99/1 shot?

No one who figures is sitting 3rd behind a 99-1 shot if they have speed to the top, however many takes and retakes it's lining up 1-1 & 1-1 in that scenario.
What race did you watch? ngc3

Bad strategy by Thiessen to back off the speed, couldn't of been worst 2nd quarter 31 2/5 was a huge breather to go first over into. Not saying the 2 wins but did get the worst outcome, lost by 5 lengths = 1 sec., 1 was in hand took only one hit in the stretch.

Cullen drove the 2. Filion the 1 and some guy called Gary Rivest on the longshot.
The 1 wasn't losing after backing the half down.
Was just wondering if the drivers frown upon interrupting the planned give and go between the front two horses.

I stand corrected on the 2's driver, thank you.
Glad I'm on hiatus, excellent time to refresh on handicapping strategies, running race scenarios, and how two horses that figure, one might get cancelled out. Happens a lot. I have no ill will when I get a smart drive. The effort and the smart part, few and far in-between.
