Eric, thanks for your letter. Yes, there’s been a lot of information posted and circulated on social media that you were representative by Mike Petrelli. Mr. Petrelli is not a member of the USTA, nor can he acquire a USTA license. Mr. Petrelli has been barred from the Meadowlands and the Goshen historic track.

Still not sure I believe he made up an entire conversation. His stuff is usually somewhat legit, with his own personal spin at times. But not flat out made up. And I’m doubting that is Steve Jones actual response if any of this is true.

I don't know anything about the Taddeo aspect of this. However, I do now know about Steve Jones' email. As a trustee of the New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund, and one of the leading and most respected breeders in NY, Steve often communicates with breeders throughout NY. If you don't think Steve has been an ambassador and an advocate for NY breeders, you are simply mistaken.
So, Steve sent a passionate email. Someone-----we all know who-----took certain statements out of context, interpreted and portrayed them in a very negative light, and has criticized Steve. But that is nothing new. He's called Steve a horse killer, made all kinds of derogatory statements, comments, and claims about Steve. Call it whatever you want. If it's not completely obvious to you that this person has a personal vendetta against Steve, than I feel sorry for you.

However, if you don't take these accusations with a grain----no, make that a boulder----of salt, then in all due respect, you are either blind or naive. He's proven himself and is a proven commodity, not just as a breeder, but as an advocate for all breeders. It's not like we are talking about someone who little to no stature and reputation in the sport and industry. I've said that with Steve as a trustee of the NY State Horse Breeding Development Fund, while it gives him an inside and direct track to decision makers and legislators, it doesn't hurt breeders to have "one of their own" sitting on this Board. Better than a politician who may have never been to the track, LOL.
This entire debacle is not about Steve's email. Please. Nobody else, not one breeder, has stepped up and said they have a problem with the email. You'll hear that there are hundreds. But you won't get any confirmed, qualified, validation on this. You'll hear breeders are up in arms, more bad things Steve has done. But there won't be any legitimate proof of this. All you see, hear, and read about here is one person regurgitating aspersions, accusations, untruths, and more of the like. He's already proven if he does it enough, a few people here will believe him. Kind of sad IMO. This entire debacle is about someone who is not a breeder, not a member of the breeders association, someone who by their own admission is not involved in the sport or industry, someone who has long had an axe to grind with Steve-----this person has taken every opportunity, and fabricated some, to attack, defame, and criticize Steve Jones. If that's your reality, then you have a demented definition of reality. If this is nothing more than your obsession vendetta against Steve, it's very transparent.
