why no contest
-
Off site you really are speculating without any number of complications unseen
when watching at home. I was surprised by it.
-
why no contest
The 5 horse with Braxton Boyd fell just after the start of the race, (interfering with the 7 & 8) the horse and Braxton got up and it appeared no significant injury's? but Braxton is off the rest of his drives.
-
interesting part is they finished the race .........
then declared no contest
which judge missed the daily double??????????
-
that was unreal. Called a no contest after running and completing the entire race! It's a mile track and horse went down after the start. This track has become so corrupt it's sad. What a mess!
-
Bad call imo. Only because loose horse was caught and Brax was thankfully up and off the track before horses even finished.
-
Braxton dazed taken to hospital for observations .

While I didn't like the no contest call by the judges........... ..
The decision definitely wasn't "corrupt" no one gains by refunding everyone's money, the track loses money by the refund.
-
Fortunately no serious injuries to horse or driver
Should not have been a no contest, majority of the field was unaffected by the incident.

Don't use a fact to cloud or belittle some conspiracy theory of corruption. LOL.

I looked up the earnings for the winner, and he was credited with the winners share of the purse.
So at least the horseman got paid.
Correction I looked up the wrong race.
The horse that fell was credited with no money.
Bobcat Bay and Villiam were each credited with $1,500, but I don't know where they finished.
-
Do you know if they paid the horse or horses who didn't finish the race since Meadowlands supposedly pays all starters?
-
The USTA chart shows no order of finish. So really no way to know. Generally even in a 5 horse field any horse that is DNF doesn’t get paid. There was a NJSS race a few years ago with 2 horses in it. One was on a break for a long time and the driver pulled it up. The other horse got the whole purse

I had to correct above post.
Sorry for my mistake.
The purse $10,500 divided by 7 finishers is $1,500

The only people who felt like no contest was appropriate were the judges. Spare me with the nobody gained from this bs. I did. All my losing bets were refunded. It was fantastic. Was like stealing money legally. Anyone else who bet and lost the race also gained big time by the decision
-
out of curiousity...who won that race > Anyone know what the order of finish was? I wasn't watching at the time
-
If they were going to declare it a no-contest, it should have been done during the race, not 30 seconds after the race was over.
-
If they were going to declare it a no-contest, it should have been done during the race, not 30 seconds after the race was over.
I know Jordan Stratton's horse, #4 Stellar Yankee who was the chalk won the race easily, I know #3 Levine finished 3rd at huge odds, can't remember who finished 2nd.

100%.
2 options: race stopped for safety or let the race finish and pay it out
What they did is not an option. They can't be that incompetent right? Its such a incompetent unbelievable decision that anyone sensing corruption is well within their right. Not me personally but I totally get that perception.

EXACTLY!!!!!!
-
The rolled the dice and risked safety but they also didn't pay the race out.
Impossibly bad.
The perception is that they waited to see the result before refunding everything. It's either that or the judges are so completely incompetent that they should never officiate another race. (I believe the latter)

That "so called" perception is only held by a few conspiracy nuts and/or people who will complain about anything the Meadowlands does.
It may have been a BAD decision by the JUDGES, but they paid out the purse money & refunded the customers money.... No Corruption..... No Gain for the Meadowlands......
Shit I'll bet if they returned every bettor an extra $10, some of you would still say the fix was in 73cv.2 73cv.2 73cv.2 73cv.2
Just 2 months ago you were complaining about just the opposite when they didnt refund a race.
This is why not declaring race 1 a no contest for betting purposes was ruthlessly unfair to gamblers
-
It is not surprising to me whatsoever that you (and all of your fellow coworkers) have no idea what the difference is between a terribly unsafe track wreaking havoc with a race and what we saw last night. Just total ignorance with regard to everything
-

the 6 Pat Ryder's horse was second by about a head.

If you are referring to, if the horses got purse money.
A) You can look up earnings on Pathway.
B) In my case I added Bobcat Bay and Villiam to my Trainers Online Entry List. It showed they each earned $1,500.
C) Save last nights program and compare earnings to their next start.
