Is it risky to bet Monti with the purse reduction? I don't know frankly.
Monti race 1 likely to be my lone Monti selection today as race 1 has a standout

I,m surprised they are even filling 7 races. Nowhere else for the slow horses to go. And if they raised purses, these owners would be out of business as better stables would come in. Just the way it is at a small dying racetrack

They had their old regulars like Rocco Yanoti, Dick Deasantis and Al Desimone et al. orchestrating their slot deals back in the day and theirs was the worst deal ever struck. Poor bastards waited for decades hanging on thinking this would turn them into "Dover". It never happened, Instead the place became worse. They shoulda brought in pros to the bargaining table.

I am sure Resorts would love to shut MR down tomorrow if they could. I don’t recall the details but I think to get their casino license they had to keep MR open. Incredibly they actually be making a profit on MR with their handle. Their expenses are low. Maybe some plopper knows more about this situation.

AMEN! Close these other shitholes down that no one cares about (as evidenced by low handles). Pocono can handle 15K on a 12K purse race and some people complain about Monticello.

Pocono closes in 8 days. That should help fill some races on the east coast and beef up pools like MR.
