next season another 2 year old champ beating out

1000 other 2 year olds

1000 x 1000 =.  1,000,000 to 1 Odds

but since he had more than 1 2 year old colt ..say

4 chances in 1000.        so       250 x 250

1 in 250. 2 years in a row          62,500. to 1

I always wondered how "he's a vet" actually applies to picking yearlings, getting them to the races, etc. I guess the "he's a vet" accusation basically means he can make them go fast, period. But they still have to be able to go fast-----confirmation, soundness, gait, etc. I guess the "he's a vet" accusation overcomes the soundness problem, LOL.

So, Moore, because he's a vet.....does this mean he has access to stuff that no other vet does? Just curious.

Back to reality, Moore is an excellent horseman. He is well liked and well respected by his peers. That might carry more credibility than the people here who say his success is simply because he's a vet.

Moore is on the leading edge of the latest and greatest remedies for problems, unlike  Dancer & Haughton  who operated on "wait and see" approach.  It's also very difficult to compare the eras of the training imo.

Eh, this best ever trainer  stuff has a life cycle, like anything else.

Noone could catch up to D Wayne Lukas

Then no one would catch Frankel

Then no one would catch Pletcher

Now Cox and AssMan and Chad have.

There was a short-lived world's best trainer that barely knew which end the feed went in.  His name was Lou!

I wouldn't put Moore in that category.  I'm not saying you are.

But the magic Moore and the other elite trainers perform isn't during the racing season, It happens with yearlings and newly turned 2's.

That's obvious, at least to me, the way they Q and race so fast early.

Ian Moore is a vet as well as a trainer. Was Dancer and Haughton actually licensed vets?

I didn't think so. I just find it interesting to compare Moore with the two of them.
