Both tracks are impossible to bet. I gave up on Yonkers over 20 years ago and the meadowlands about 10 years ago.

Meadowlands giving out $160,000 in purses on a Saturday night is no big deal. So-called B tracks give out more. It's a shame what happened to a track that was once the premier place to race. Now it truly has become Freehold North. If you go back to when Freehold was open, its condition sheet looks like Meadowlands condition sheet today.

The point is handing out huge purses does not translate to more business. Also, you're another jerkoff calling Meadowlands, Freehold North. OK, douchebag, if Freehold and Meadowlands are now carding the same quality of horses and race conditions, tell me how many times Freehold handled over 2 million? I'll wait for your response.

 Weird flex
Best time of year watch the young horses racing for great money. Nothing better than following the horses, going to wherever their next stake is, with family.

the two are not linked and have not been for a long time. Purses are funded by government handouts not handle.

That is not true. Handle at the Meadowlands is paying for 70% of the purses in 2026, retard. How about posting after you do some research. The T-Breds got 10 million and the Standardbreds got 10 million. Here is the distribution for Standardbreds in 2025 before Freehold shut down. NJ has not given the Meadowlands more than 6 million in 2026 even though Freehold is closed.

The Meadowlands: 60% ($6 million)
Freehold Raceway: 16% ($1.6 million)
New Jersey Sire Stakes Purses: 12% ($1.2 million)
NJ-Sired Horse Bonuses: 6% ($600,000)
Breeders Awards Purses: 6% ($600,000)

Reallocation After Closure: Following Freehold's closure, legislation (S3921) directed that funds previously allocated to Freehold's overnight purses be reallocated to the Meadowlands Racetrack to support additional race dates. The Meadowlands needed to increase their race dates to receive the Freehold money. They did NOT!!!!!!

The minimum of 35 standardbred race dates as herein provided may be decreased upon agreement and written consent from the Standardbred Breeders' and Owners' Association of New Jersey, notwithstanding the requirements of section 30 of P.L.2001, c.199 (C.5:5-156).1
