Exactly-the Lawsuit has me intrigued because Howard is suing Gural for defamation for using the term EPO-seems to fail the smell test. Why?  In professional horse racing, owners are not hands-off corporate executives; they are deeply invested in the daily health, regimen, and costs of their stock.
BB3 wasn't a standard joint supplement or a routine vitamin bottle you buy at a local tack shop. It was a highly expensive, custom-compounded designer peptide.The evidence produced by FBI showed that BB3 and EPO are a distinction without a difference when it comes to cheating and horse welfare
For an owner to receive invoices from multiple different training operations, all featuring billing from Dr. Seth Fishman’s obscure Florida laboratory, and simply click "pay" without ever asking, "Who is this vet and why are we buying so much from him?" stretches the boundaries of credibility.
When multiple horses across multiple different barns suddenly start dropping their times and winning purses at a highly unusual rate, an experienced owner knows exactly what is happening. As racing officials noted during the Fishman trials, professionals know the physical limits of a horse; sudden spikes in performance don't happen naturally.
The defamation gamble could open a can of worms ! By claiming Gural ruined his reputation by calling him a doper, Howard has forced a federal judge to look directly at this absurd "I just paid the bills" excuse. When Gural’s lawyers present a jury with the sheer statistical impossibility of multiple different trainers independently using the exact same underground doping ring funded by the exact same checkbook, Howards "curveball" legal technicalities are highly likely to fall apart under ordinary human logic.

    This is really getting redundant . Do you people really think it’s an accident that of all the owners whose trainers used Fishman’s products these racing commissions came after Howard Taylor.  Without having the exact numbers I would say conservatively there are at least another 100 owners who had trainers who used Fishman. If you denied licensing to all of these owners there wouldn’t be any harness racing. So why Howard ?   A. The powers that be never liked Howard representing trainers that they don’t like.     B.  There’s a very good chance that Jeff Gural used his influence to sabotage Howard Taylor with the racing commissions  C. The  powers that be also didn’t like some of the trainers that Howard used.  D. I definitely believe alot of SCM’s postings hurt Howard and I also believe that SCM was working for and financed by Jeff Gural

I don't know the details of any suit between Gural and Taylor, but I will say this. I think Gural banned Taylor and that's where it ends. I say Taylor can't win that case. Now it grows, morphs into something else, etc. and maybe Taylor is grasping at straws. I don't know.

Anyway, Taylor may be a good lawyer, maybe a great lawyer. I don't know. But I do know one thing.....unlike the NJRC, the NJSEA, and all of Gural's predecessors, Gural is not going to use some second-rate, Triple A, or sub-par law firm. You are talking about a major league, nationally presence, major business owner here. With massive and vast experience. He doesn't use attorney's who have neon lights in the window that say "Se Habla Espanol" if you know what I mean, LOL. Taylor may be a great litigator, again, I don't know. Taylor might be used to being the biggest dog in several yards he's been in before. But he may end up in a yard and facing a dog that he's never seen the likes of before. If the two end up in court, I don't even care what each sides argument/position is.....I would bet on Gural, LOL.

I would say that's about true (70%) but most owners don't get billed directly from the source and not question what they're buying.

Might be different if trainer just added it to the bill for training.

I never had my owners pay directly for anything. (except maybe a vet bill) But never for a pre-race or any medications I were using.

It's a foolish claim. For many reasons. Especially if he received illegal products and distributed them to his trainers, and I am not saying he did that, because I don't know that for a fact; and I am certainly not going to believe some claims made here on a BB. Yes, I believe he bought the products and paid for them. I just don't know if he received and distributed them. Doesn't matter. I still think the sport and industry is better off without him.
