"Not really the driver's fault"?  Can't believe you're giving him a pass for his butcher drive. You either commit for the lead right away or sit 4th and come first over. He who hesitates gets hung to the half in 52 and change and is up the track.

He’s not the first great two year old colt to regress at 3. With that being said, atrocious trip by McClure, I’ll assume he’s not driving him again. Jody’s colt was massive in here as well.

This type of race really shows how incredible SOMEBEACHSOMEWHER E was with the awful trip he got in the Meadowlands Pace & still paced hard right to the wire, just getting beat.

Yes, the bigger story ought to be the horse that won. He earned that record for sure.

A professional driver shouldn't put himself in that position by being indecisive.
