Anyone that has a budget of a cool million a month and feels the need to compete in every jurisdiction, has only his best interest at heart, with the sport a distant second.

Feels the need? I think Burke competes in every jurisdiction where he believes he can make money. Of course he has his best interest at heart. He's supposed to. It's his business. He's in it to make a living, a profit. Only has his best interest? Sport a distant second. Futile discussion IMO. I don't expect Burke or anyone else-----and this is their business-----to make decisions which are detrimental to themselves.

The 3 legged stool. Harness racing is sport a business and driven by gambling. It all creates large conflicts. For all the right reasons the horseman treat it foremost as a business and should only being doing what is best for the horse and nothing else should matter. The bettor is only looking to cash a ticket that moment and could care less of “that” horse’s racing schedule.

It is not really driven by gambling in many places. In Pennsylvania for example, only about 15% of the purses comes from handle.

When you look at the industry from afar , it's very hard to believe that one trainer in the industry would be so dominant, especially at the top rung of the business.
He constantly improves horses that come from very reputable barns and trainers.
Could a trainer be so good that he can be better then everybody that ever trained ?

That's quite a stretch.

Burke is no dummy around a horse that's for damn sure. I just feel anybody that participates in the game and has that kind of success might want to consider the overall health of the sport. Obviously Weaver and him want it all and that should be disappointing for all that want the game to thrive. How much is enough?

Lexus Kody never beat top FFA trotters. He made two moves, was pressured, & draws clear...as much the best. Where did that race come from & the ridiculous improvement? The more I see the more obvious it is.

He may have been pressured but the fractions weren't fast. As far as never beater FFA horses, who knows how good some of those international horses and drivers really are plus they were either parked the mile or locked in.
