Gambling Day VIII, 9/10/25 (Harrington :)
« on: September 09, 2025, 11:45:53 PM »
What the hell, 0/7 doing everything else, and it's been I think a decade or so since I bet Dover or Harrington which the latter is running there tomorrow.  There is some some rain, however I'm estimating a Fast track.  Temperature in the mid 60's, and a 10-15mph wind.

Art Stafford Jr. won 5 there yesterday.

A race too with a  6 horse field with a 30-1+ winner and the 1/5 out of the money and the exacta paid $40 and tri $110.20.  This is a crazy train!

14 races starting at 4:30pm.  Not really big pools, so the betting strategy is to tighten up.  See ya then!   ;D

Why do you hate gays?

You hate blacks.

You hate people who protect animals from abuse.

You hate almost everyone here.

Who don't you hate?

That's because the pools are small and some people play their numbers

JT, thank you for your encouragement.  Last night I actually pulled a JT.  I don't ever drink and had a bottle of cheap champagne on my desk from a title company they gave to me as a gift from a closing.  I knocked it down from the bottle, fell asleep, woke up 4 hours later and got through 5 races there, 1-4, 10.  I only won one race, but the profit was $734.20.  tmbz1

  • dougie: IIB, I think the mayor will sign the bill if it reaches his desk. The optics on this issue is bad for the horse carriage industry. Animal activists are adept to using the media to enlist horror and anger by the public.

  • Ignorance Is Bliss: It's now a bill with city council. Public hearings will be scheduled then the council votes on it. If passed it's sent to the Mayor to sign into law. He has already said he's in. Marte just took over, Bob Holden is the actual author of the bill who retired last year.

  • dougie: IIB, I have been reading some of the work Councilman Marte has been doing on this issue. I think he might be successful with passing the 'Ryders Law" Bill this time around. The image of the horse dead on the street has even been seen here everywhere. If the animal activists can get this on the ballot, who knows how the vote will go.
