SPA Day XXV, Wednesday, 8/13/25
« on: August 13, 2025, 01:47:00 AM »
Hot as Hell at the SPA today, high 80's with a real feel of high 90's, very high humidity, the meteorologists have the sun, lightening and clouds on the day pic, but not likely to rain, or rain much to impact.  The wind is like 2-5 mph, dead air, you can move more air around burping and farting.  Stay in the A/C lol with a cold drink!

FAST & FIRM expected.

I'm going to of course pass on the that hurdling bullshit stakes as always, yuk, surprisingly also passing on the 8th race turf stakes.  I want to stay on the dirt today and I chose the 4th race, six horse field an allowance Opt CL, $115k purse.  Some of these won or placed in ungraded stakes, half are up for claim.

Other than this one race here at the SPA, a couple of horses I'm following at each the Red Mile (4th and 10th) & Hoosier (11th and 13th).  So four races in harness and 5 total for the day.

I took Tuesday off, rested, ran errands.  Squared up some business so I can focus on and enjoy the challenge of this too.  8 day losing streak as of Monday, saw nice rebates from wagering last week, over $300.  I'll post when selections are made and wagered on, and before the races.

Good Luck!   ;D

A long time friend, Roys Mansur, has a horse (My Noble Knight) in the second race at The Spa Wednesday.  I have no idea how the horse will do.  I'm NOT touting it.  But it has been a few years since I knew anyone personally who had one racing at Saratoga.

If the horse wins and anyone reading this is there, feel free to get in the winners circle photo.  If you wish to remain anonymous, cover up half your face and raise a fist in the air so we know you are a plopster!

Here's your official invitation.  I'm deputizing you to represent ;D

My horse - My Noble Knight is entered in the 2nd race at Saratoga. If we should get lucky and win, and you are there - you are invited to please get in the win photo.

A lot of scratches today at the Spa resulting in some really short fields. Gonna try and make a few bucks today on the fuller fields.

I think NYRA wants to mitigate horse (injury / death) related controversy during this meet and are extra focuses which is great.  Non weather related tons of scratches more than normal mean they're probably seeking to be extra precautious when it comes to horses getting injured, dying on the track, as it is pretty hot too.

You look for larger fields I look to embrace the small ones with cold numbers lol.

race 1--steeplechase event

#7 Carloun for trainer/jump specialist  Keri Brion.....she knows how to get one ready

Carloun went off 2/1 vs a much tougher field-should like this group

her horse wont be short or need a race .... the question is not falling down...i expect a solid effort currently only 9/2

good luck to everyone today

Good Luck!  He should handle that field especially with the scratch of the 3
