I believe his wrist, never heard if broken, sprained or strained though.

Driver Mark MacDonald will remain sidelined into next month after sustaining injuries in an accident on Thursday, June 19 at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

During a division of the New York Sire Stakes on the Thursday card, Unmatched Wisdom (driven by Jordan Stratton) fell during a first-over bid approaching the three-quarter station. Knoxville, who was following his cover with MacDonald at the lines, couldn't avoid him.

Both horses got up and returned to the paddock, and Stratton continued his Thursday night assignments.

MacDonald, who returned to action in April after nearly six months on the sidelines, told Trot Insider on Tuesday that the injuries from his recent spill should only require a few weeks of rest, relaxation and rehabilitation.

"My hip and shoulder and back are all good," said MacDonald. "I had Grade 1 sprain (the mildest form) in my wrist that is stretching of the ligaments — no tearing — and a small fracture in a bone in my hand. I got really, really lucky...if there was a fracture with displacements then it would have meant surgery and now you're talking several months so I’m very grateful for that. Hard to believe that it's not broke."

A two-time O'Brien Award winner as Canada's Driver of the Year, MacDonald sports 6,725 victories in his career with more than $115 million in purse earnings.

Mark is not one of the safest drivers, he's run his fair share of other drivers off the track! He's a straight up bully on the track.

I would agree with that after watching him at Yonkers and also Sararoga.   I never thought he was actually any good . Bad drives.  Never like to see anyone get hurt though.
