Unfortunately they only race 4 months at each track. And the slots run year round. Unlike the M1 that relies on handle to survive. Don’t compare apples to oranges
That is true but except Hambletonian and Meadowlands Pace day the racing sucks there. If I wanted to see 5 amateur races a night, I'd rather go to a county fair in Ohio

Don't have to convince me. It's a damn shame. Never going to see what used to be again.

What about the 12 million from The State of New Jersey? And now the money Freehold was getting....
Hmm. 12 million a year to race year round vs 100 million a year.
To race 4 months. I wonder who has the best deal

Did you know....there was a time when The Meadowlands generated enough money to back the construction of the original Giants Stadium? When Harness Racing mattered and people planned going multiple nights a week because it was an event every race night. Now, it's over. They only race twice a week, how many race dates each year? And why does it have to be handouts? You are correct saying The Meadowlands relies on handle as a big part of their purse account, THE WAY IT USED TO BE AT EVERY TRACK. That's the idea of a business, offer the public something they're willing to pay for. Now it's someone else has to support it. Maybe clean up the game and do something that might entice people to want to come back. I know that sounds crazy, right?

I haven't looked at a scioto program in a while.  When did they start putting the detention barn info in the program?  Lots of Carter and Perrin horses in detention barn.  Is this something new?

Yes I know and Blockbuster was a huge company back then. Fortunately the race horse industry puts a shit ton of money back in the states coffers

For whatever reason you want to point to, however the purse $$ is generated, bottom line it's a better
product, especially when the amount of races actually being raced are factored in and OBVIOUSLY the purses.
Shame it doesn't get the pari-mutual support it merits.

Absolutely. It merits support in our eyes, not this new public under 40 crowd playing Fortnite all weekend. I thought why not host that stupid shit at the tracks. Whatever it takes to get these people in the building who don't even know the sport exists.

Yea the general public would rather see condos and big box stores on the green space. That is why they keep voting for politicians that support horse racing

Yeah cause things like healthcare, economy, jobs, homes, education....mean nothing. You really think anyone outside the industry give a shit about harness racing???? Ask the people who raced at Pompano, Northville, Scarborough, Freehold, shall I go on? The industry is shrinking each day. You need to wake the F up dude. New Jersey is hanging by a fucking thread. Yonkers a month to month contract until the casino decisions are released. Are you for real???

Hey bustout, what I do for a living is above your pay grade, OK!

after viewing your results, you need to contact Dan Nance and start your own club on how to pick 1/2 the horses in a race and still, lose money when you win!

You might hit a few (When you pick half the field you got to) but you're a loser in the long run almost every night. Being above my pay grade is nothing to brag about sport!  tmbz1
