This country was on a slide to bankruptcy. It's not all Trumps fault but the fault of many presidents.
If we just made no changes and continued down that road we were headed for total financial calamity, no social security system etc.
At some point it was necessary to upset the apple cart to stop the slide.
Anyone that thinks that we could have continued as things were and not eventually met financial doom is a fool.

The mess we are in has never been experienced in our country's history.
37 trillion in debt and more is paid in interest than it costs to run our military.
There is no readymade plan to get out of this mess, unprecedented actions must be taken in an unprecedented time of financial turmoil.
Cutting out fraud and waste and evening tariffs with other countries to a fair level is a good start IMHO.
